Aside from the 3 destinations where our association has trained and equipped local eco-guides (Rimatara, Ua Huka and Tahuata ), French Polynesia is full of islands sheltering a great variety of birds.
Fatu hiva is the more remote islands in Marquesas and holds a species on the brink of extinction : the Fatu hiva monarch Pomarea whitneyi with only 6 pairs remaining. SOP Manu conduct there a conservation programme with local community and it’s possible to visit valley for doing birdwaching tours.
